(Er, houkou as 咆哮 is "roar" but this 砲 is the hou of "cannon".)įate/Stay Night anime OST - Track review~ Well, thanks to pink-chan, I'll update the half-assed translated tracklist: Those who actually know Japanese, feel free to correct my romanizations/translations :heh: GRRR.Īlthough I didn't expect such a long album! It sure delivers a lot, with a whooping 32 tracks. (also known as You Just Got EXCALIBUR'D!) The sword that brings the promised victory Yakusoku sareta shouri no ken -Kenji Kawai ver. ("Squirming in the dark" sounded WAY too H :heh:) ("Housekeeper" may be a better translation, but it's funnier this way) The male-maid is a defender of justice! :heh: Here's my sucky translation of track titles, as seen in Amazon. However, since I haven't played the game, I can't really form any opinions on a comparison between the two in terms of story development and pacing and what is emphasized and what is not. For example, the part building up to the chorus is upbeat in the original game opening, but in the anime opening, it seems to be more resolvant-sounding. However, I think the game opening gives more of an action-oriented feeling, while the anime opening uses a different interpretation of harmonic progression than what I was imagining for the game opening, and thus leads me in a slightly different direction. The vocals are appealing and the instrumentation is really rich and harmonious compared to the minimalistic game opening. I felt that the remake was very well done. For those of you who have listened to the original game opening and this remake, what are your thoughts?
